Recalling an ominous sky I ask, is this dawn or dusk? This piece recalls nautical flags, often hoisted as a warning, a distress signal, or a call for help. The theme of uncertainty is emphasized by primary and secondary surface patterns competing for the eye of the viewer, a discomfiting color palette, and a craggy and decayed-looking surface.
