This piece speaks to the uncertainty of time and space, using the horizon as a metaphor. It is composed of a series of tiles with decorative, plaque-shaped edges. Along with the crackled surfaces of the tiles, the hazy green, white and blue glaze that covers them suggests age. Beyond their composition each tile stands alone as an individual painting offering a unique horizon. The installation itself takes on the form of an empty frame. Its central space invites contemplation and its scale engages the body of the viewer.
